Internet poker rooms have grown so much in popularity that now even brick and mortar (a term you'll learn in this section) traditional poker and casino establishments have their own. This section has terms that have sprung from the new age of online poker play. It may not be as extensive as the other sections, but it's one that's definitely sure to grow. If you're planning on playing in the internet arena of poker then these terms will be ones you want to know.

Brick and Mortar

This is a term to describe a traditional casino that is an actual building, thus the brick and mortar name, and is relatively new term that came about due to the rise on online poker rooms.

Chat

This is a term used in internet poker play which is used to describe online conversation players have at internet poker rooms.

Hand History

This is a term exclusive to internet poker play which refers to a textual read of a single or multiple played hands.

Micro-Limit Games

These are poker games with very low betting spreads that typically run around 25-50 cents. These games are exclusive to online poker rooms because of inability of a traditional poker facility to make profits off them.

Satellite Tournament

This is a tournament in which the prize is a seat in another, usually much larger, tournament like those hosted by the World Series of Poker. Many times these tournaments are held at online poker sites.
