Andrew Feldman

Andrew Feldman is one of the most popular U.K poker players. He is already a Full Tilt Poker Pro and is a regular in big cash games, as well as having over $500k in tournament winnings. In this article we will give you an insight into Feldman’s background and how he has become such a big poker star.

His story is a true rags to riches one – from paperboy to poker millionaire! He first became interested in poker when he was 17 years old thanks to his older brother. He would always hear his brother playing, trying to qualify in satellites for big live events. Feldman didn’t get started until his 18th birthday when he deposited £10 onto a UK internet site. He began by playing £1 sit-and-goes and quickly found lots of success in the six-max turbos which pay the top two players.

After building a small bankroll he shifted his attention to the heads-up cash games, starting at the lowest stakes of $0.25/$0.50 NLHE. Feldman found his bankroll ballooning once he made this switch, and he was having so much internet poker success that it was detracting his attention from his college studies. He found his love of poker taking over his life and soon he was skipping college and instead going to internet cafes to play poker online. After 8 months of constant play, Feldman found himself with a bankroll of over $100k! However, disaster was just around the corner for him.

After attending a local casino where he lost over £2000, he came home very angry and frustrated, and began playing above his bankroll at the $25/$50 NLHE tables. He suffered a bad beat early in the session which sent him out of control and on tilt; he ended up losing half of his bankroll. The next morning he woke up devastated, and opted to play and try and win back his big losses, which led to him losing his whole bankroll. So after building up a roll of over $100k, Feldman lost it all in just 24hours! After losing all his money he had to tell his parents and they banned him from gambling in their home and that he had to focus on his college studies so he would get accepted to university.

This was a tough time for Feldman, especially since his parents had been constantly telling him to withdraw most of the money out of his poker account, and they even made him go to gamblers anonymous in the hope of getting gambling out of his system. But Feldman was now hooked on poker, and he found that he had some money left on another poker account. He got back to grinding and in one day he built it up to £1000, which was then £10,000 by the end of the week, and £30,000 by the end of the month! His parents made him withdraw £25k and allowed him to keep the other £5000 to do whatever he wanted.

Feldman’s first big break came in 2007 when he won the UK Open for $250,000 which shot him into the spotlight as one of the UK’s brightest stars. This led to him being invited to PartyPoker’s Poker Den where he made a great impression during the television show. Since this he has become a Full Tilt Pro and is a regular at the $10/$20 NLHE cash games on the site where his name is in red to highlight that he is a Full Tilt Poker red pro. It is also rumoured that various of the best poker training sites are interested in signing him.
