Rakeback is your friend!

A few years ago it was almost impossible to find a solid rakeback deal. The only reward you could get was a simple deposit bonus. This was the offer to lure some players to poker rooms. Nowadays this doesn't work very well any more. Everybody receives some kind of bonus and players don't care about that much. Rakeback is much better than a simple bonus. Rakeback is paid lifetime and is fixed in most cases. That means that you receive a certain percentage no matter how much you're playing. That's fair and obviously very popular for poker players.

But what do you have to take into account? Sure, rakeback is great but rakeback is not the same for every player and every poker room. Some rooms pay more rakeback and some less. But this doesn't mean that you should go with the higher rakeback deal. For example very small networks and rooms often pay high percentages. But once you want to play there you will see that the traffic there is often insufficient. If you have 100 % rakeback but no players to play with you're better of taking a 30 % rakeback offer at a poker room with lots of players.

Is there a reason not to use a rakeback deal? Sure, when players win somebody else has to lose. In this case it's the poker room that earns less with rakeback. And if he earns less he can't invest that much in marketing and such to generate new players you can exploit as a good poker player. That's the downside but as a single player it simply doesn't play a role if you take your rakeback or not. You won't influence the poker rooms marketing budget so you should not care about that.
